Being raised by a military father on his homeplanet, until his father was one day killed in action, he always had enough money to take care of himself, but after the event of his father's death, he didn't want to simply "take care of himself," he wanted to follow in his father's footsteps, and become a soldier. While not for the military directly, he worked for a military contractor, and, having been successful at this, even started his own contracting company. While working for his first employer, he earned enough to buy his personal ship, the Breezerider.
He lost his left handpaw in an explosive decompression incident, which also lead to lifelong paranoia space accidents.
Nires Zokolov started Zokolov Contracting at 20 years old, using money from a settlement agreed upon with his former employer. It quickly gained renown as a terrific asset for anyone requiring military-grade defense. He employs 278 sentient employees, 24 quasi-sentient robots, one station, two space carriers, and a few dozen corvettes.
Serious when it comes to work. Has a hard time winding-down even when off-duty. He is capable of having a sense of humor, but just. Utterly paranoid about decompressions, won't go anywhere without either 4 hulls between him and space, or an IVA suit on.
His right paw is entirely mechanical, having been crushed by debris during explosive decompression. This mechanical limb is connected to a neural implant, which allows him to control it with the speed of the original limb, if not more. His index finger's thin protective plating can retract, exposing a connector, similar to a USB. This is one of two methods of his vehicles' operation. His right eye contains an implant, which allows him to see in low light situations.
About 6' tall, Nires is not one that stands out in a crowd for any reason other than the way he carries himself. He wears gloved to cover both paws, leaving the mechanical one hidden. On his upper back is a tattoo which reads "Just try to love me."
